The Full Diver Progression

- Recreational: Start with Open Water and progress through Advanced Open Water to achieve Master Diver
- Professional: Transition to leadership roles as a Divemaster and ultimately as an Instructor.

Three Steps to Scuba Certification
You can earn your scuba certification with Cactus to Coral by Paragon Dive Grouop in three steps. Our dive training courses start with eLearning, followed by confined water training in a pool, then a series of open-water dives at a location of your choice.
Step 1: eLearning Course
Start your open-water scuba diver class with an eLearning course. This course allows you to master all the vital academic information before you get in the water. Aspiring divers can complete this phase through self-study, at their own pace, in the convenience of their home or office. All eLearning courses are available on mobile and tablet devices.
Step 2: Pool Training
The next step to earning your scuba certification is completing in-water skill-development training. During this step, new divers will familiarize themselves with the water and dive equipment while learning safe practices to prepare for open-water diving. This training takes place in confined water, typically a swimming pool, under the supervision of an experienced Paragon Dive scuba instructor.
Step 3: Open-Water Certification Dives (Final Checkout)
This is the final, essential step where you apply all your skills under instructor supervision to become a certified diver. You will complete four Open-Water training dives, combining academic knowledge with crucial practical experience.
As a Phoenix diver, you choose your final checkout location:
- The Local Choice: Lake Pleasant. Complete your dives conveniently in a controlled, high-desert environment right here in the Valley.
- The Ocean Choice: San Carlos, Mexico. Join one of our group trips to the beautiful Sea of Cortez for immediate marine immersion in a vibrant ocean environment.
Regardless of where you go, you will gain the real open-water exposure necessary to earn your certification card.
