Professional Development: Go Beyond the Bubble
Scuba diving is more than just a hobby—it’s a lifestyle that opens new worlds, whether you’re exploring locally in Lake Pleasant or traveling to an exotic destination. It’s common for dedicated divers to feel the pull to do more: to take their training further and become ambassadors for the sport.
At Cactus to Coral Scuba, we understand this desire to “give back” and share those life-changing underwater moments. We offer a full spectrum of professional development courses designed to turn your passion into a part-time role or even a full-time career.
Become a Dive Professional
We offer comprehensive training for dive professionals of all levels. We guide you from your first leadership steps through the most advanced technical instructor ratings:
- Divemaster
- Assistant Instructor
- Open Water Instructor
- Technical Instructor (including CCR Instructor courses)
The professional journey begins with the SDI Divemaster Course—your first professional certification. In this program, you will be challenged to learn how to:
- Work with new divers experiencing the underwater world for the first time.
- Lead certified divers, managing logistics and conducting safe, enjoyable dives.
- Master advanced knowledge in dive physics, physiology, and risk management.
Following this, the SDI Assistant Instructor Course focuses on practical teaching preparation. You will work directly with an active SDI Instructor, gaining experience in:
- In-Water Instruction: Assisting with Open Water, Advanced Diver, and Rescue Diver courses.
- Academic Delivery: Preparing lesson plans and practicing classroom presentations.
- Dive Management: Mastering the comprehensive techniques required for safe and successful dive operations.
